Patricia A.  Vile (Oster)
Patricia A. (Oster) Vile, 82, of Amber passed away Monday February 13, 2017, surrounded by her loving family, after battling numerous health issues. Pat was a lifetime resident of the Marietta-Amber area, where she was very active in the community. She was a member of the Amber Ladies Auxiliary for 58 years, during which she served as President and other offices numerous times throughout the years. She was a lifelong member of Amber Congregational Church where she served as Choir director for 16 years. She also was an active member and officer in the Amber Cemetery Association. Pat graduated from Marcellus High School in 1953 and loved participating in the school band. She started work at Prudential, then left to spend her time raising her family.
Patricia is predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Francis “Cy” Vile; her parents, Louis and Estella Oster; her brother Louis ”Dutch” Oster and sister Beverly (Oster) Schmidt. Surviving are children, Francis Vile Jr. (Jill) of Boonville, IN; Sherry Vile (Tom Pembrook) of Rochester, NY; and Kimberly Vile (Charles “Chuck” Donovan III); grandchildren Cameron (Emily) Vile with great grandchild Ruby Grace, of Boonville, Indiana; Caleb (Savannah) Vile with great grandchildren Ryder Daniel and Jubilee May, of Tennyson, IN; Emily (Jacob) McGill of Benton, Kentucky; Anastasia, Nathan and Garett Pembrook of Rochester, New York; and Cahal and Brogan Donovan of Amber, New York; brother in law George Schmidt and sister in law Helen Oster; nieces, nephews and last but not least, Tasha.
Service for Pat will be at 11 am Saturday, February 18 at Amber Congregational Church in Amber. Burial will be in Amber Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call on the family from 4-7 on Friday, February 17 at Plis Funeral Home, 33 North Street, Marcellus.
Memorial gifts may be made to Amber Auxiliary Volunteer Fire Department or Amber Congregational Church.
